Upstream from the bridge is Capilano lake. The lake was formed by Cleveland Dam, to store drinking water for Vancouver.

Ugggggg! and I just read (in Bennett's Second Edition) that the Capilano "carves a splendid canyon with fantastic white water [...] always fun and challenging". Rated class III to IV. Pah!
