It's a pink year this year ("stinky pinkie" salmon, aka humpback salmon), However, it's a week or two early for them yet, and I don't think there are many runs through Lake Washington, so they are probably Silvers (aka Coho). Silvers are nicer eating than Pinks. Take a trip across the locks and to Fisherman's terminal, where you'll find Chinook's Restaurant, a fairly family-friendly place that serves excellent salmon (and also some of the best crab cakes you'll find).
