Low-tech toast

Combine wind, lots of trees, and overhead power lines and you get... ~1,000,000 households without power. Luckily we still remembered how to do toast the low-tech way...

The wind and rain didn't stop a very enjoyable evening learning about football (i.e. not soccer) - although the elements & traffic did their best to delay things a tad.

Thanks Mark for a great night out, although next time I hope the home time wins ;-)

Lighting up the town in Bellevue

After several recommendations (a big thank you to everyone that mentioned it, and to Dawn for driving!) we popped into Bellevue to see the lights at the Botanical Garden.

Absolutely amazing.

Bike Ride

A quick cycle along the  Sammammish river between Woodinville and Redmond along part of the Burke-Gillman trail.

Bears!

Andy had a bear in the street (but no photo's yet!!!) so, not wanting to feel left out, we had to go and get one for ourselves...and no, the heckling from afar had nothing to do with it.

Meltman

The snow went - eventually. The cold artic snap stayed with us for a few days and Mr. Snowman stayed for a while too. That reminds me, I wonder if there's a scarf and hat out in the garden. Maybe the deer took them with the carrot...
