Sorry, I Misunderstood

So when ordering a new PC I was very pleased to see the option for no pre-installed software. The last two PCs I've bought I spent a load of time cleaning off all the special offers, trial software, and general guff that I didn't want and had no intention of using.

Unfortunately it looks like I misunderstood the term No preinstalled Software because that's what I got.

My definition might be at fault. But when on first boot I get asked to accept license agreements for software that wasn't in the BOM, and there's stuff running in the system tray that's 60-day trial, I think that counts as preinstalled - especially when declining said license agreements results in a de-install process kicking off.

Still, I did opt for Windows Vista Home Basic so maybe I only have myself to blame.

I can hear robert from hear: "Home Basic? The fellow's gone mad". Well there is some method in my madness. I run Ultimate at work and on the tablet so I wanted to experience the other end of the SKU spectrum to see what all the fuss is about.

So far - day one - I'm feeling the omission of Aero. Odd that, because that's the one thing I thought I wouldn't miss.
