First Impressions of Picasa's RAW support

The recent Picasa update (now version 2.1) added improved support for RAW files. I thought it might remove the need for my mixed workflow hack, but first impressions aren't good. While it's nice to have RAW files manageable from within Picasa there's two big faults:
  1. No support for .DNG
  2. Previews are way too dark compared to the on-camera processed JPEG versions
There's also nothing to help you when working with multiple versions of the same file - I'd like something that provided the option to edit, move or delete multiple copies of the same file.

New Canon DPP v2.03

Canon have announced an update for Digital Photo Professional. Version 2.0.3 is now available for download and provides improved handling of RAW data from Canon digital EOS cameras.

New Picasa with RAW Support

There's a new version of picasa available, version 2.1, that supports RAW.

If I'm lucky this update will remove the need for my Mixed Workflow.

There's also a new Camera RAW plug-in (v3.2) for PhotoShop and an update to the DNG Converter from Adobe. These were released a while back but they're still on my todo list to try.
